The Commercial & Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia (CAFBA) has recently revealed the winners of the esteemed National Broker and Financier Awards for 2024.
The awards ceremony, which took place at The Ritz-Carlton in Melbourne, served to recognize the exceptional performance, innovation, and commitment within the commercial and asset finance industry.
Rising Star Nominee Stunned by Recognition
Shubham Bhaskar from Sheel Capital in Victoria, a nominee for the Rising Star award, was already delighted with the nomination itself.
“This recognition is a significant honour and a testament to the incredible work I’ve been able to do with Australian SMEs,” Bhaskar stated before the event.
Bhaskar’s achievements didn’t end there, as he went on to win the Rising Star – Commercial Finance Broker of the Year award.
Winner of Women in Finance Excellence Award
Another industry leader recognized on the night was Sammi Haines from Coastal Finance in Tasmania, who won the Women in Finance Excellence Award.
“With the help of the strong women in my team, I’ve been able to grow a company built on empathy, understanding, and integrity. Together with my team, we’re committed to making a difference in our industry and empowering more women in finance,” Haines said.
LMG, NAB Among Honoured Aggregators and Lenders
Both the asset finance and commercial finance teams of LMG had a big night, taking home awards in their respective categories. Similarly, NAB also had a successful night, with Kerry Smith being awarded BDM of the Year (QLD) – Commercial Finance, and the broader NAB Broker team named Credit and Settlements Team of the Year – Commercial Finance.
